Located just outside the charming town of Lenox, Lakeside Retreats at Mah-Kee-Nac is great for groups seeking a private, quiet location with lots of outdoor facilities, yet one that is easily accessible to the many historic and cultural spots in the Berkshires. The lake is called Stockbridge Bowl, formerly named Lake Mah-Kee-Nac (meaning "moon over water" in the Algonquin language) and is a beautiful anchor to the 45-acre property.

  • PRIVATE HOUSING: The Seneca House features three wings of 8 bunk beds each - can be configured for semi-private lodging.
  • DINING: The dining hall seats up to 250 at a time. Meals can be served buffet-style, family-style, or cafeteria-style.
  • 400-square foot Library located at the lake, for small meetings

From Route 90 East:Map of Stockbridge
* Exit B3 (first exit after toll). At end of ramp, go right on Route 22; go .7 miles, then turn left over bridge. Go 6.2 miles on Route 102 through West Stockbridge until you reach Route 183 (blinking light). Turn left on Route 183. Go exactly 4 miles to Hawthorne Road (small road on right only) and turn right. Go .7 miles to the camp entrance on your right. There is a camp sign at the top of the road.

From New Jersey And South
Take Garden State Parkway to end - take left fork, onto the New York State Thruway. (Do not follow "New England" sign.) Get off at Exit 21A (sign marked "Berkshires and Massachusetts" Route 90 E). Follow directions from Route 90E*. Note: If traveling New Jersey Turnpike (Route 95) take exit 11 to Garden State Parkway North, then as above.

Alternate Route: (not recommended for night driving) - New York Thruway to Exit 17 (Newburgh). After toll booth, follow signs to Route 84E. Cross bridge over Hudson and continue to Taconic State Parkway. Go North on Taconic State Parkway (Exit 16N) to end. Take ramp to right marked "Boston" (Route 90E). Follow directions from Route 90E*.

From The North And West
New York State Thruway to just below Albany. Take road marked to "Berkshires and Massachusetts" (Exit 21A -- Route 90 East). Follow directions from Route 90E*.

From New York City
North on West Side Highway to Henry Hudson Parkway, to Saw Mill River Parkway, to Taconic State Parkway North. Continue on Parkway to end. Take ramp to right marked "Boston" (Route 90E). Follow directions from Route 90E*.

From Long Island
Whitestone Bridge or Throgs Neck Bridge to Hutchinson River Parkway North to Cross Westchester Parkway (Route 287 West). Take Sprain Brook Parkway North, to Taconic State Parkway. Continue on Taconic to end. OR Tri-Boro Bridge to Major Deegan North and follow the NewYork State Thruway to Exit 21A (Route 90E). Follow directions from Route 90E*.

From Boston
Mass Pike (90W) to Exit 2 "Lee." Turn right on Route 20W (approximately 5 miles) to first light (Route 183 - Lenox). Turn left (approximately 1 mile) to Monument in the Center of Lenox. Follow directions from Lenox below.

From Lenox
At Monument, make a left onto Stockbridge Road (next to Town Hall) down the hill. Take first right (at foot of hill) on HawthorneStreet. Take to end (1.5 miles) and turn left on Hawthorne Road. Turn right on Camp Road (look for camp sign about 100 yards).
